Introverts need people, too

The past few weeks have brought about a lot of changes for me in terms of my living situation, and I’ve just not been feeling like my regular self. Maybe it’s due to a lack of sleep or a lack of structure, but it’s a feeling I haven’t been able to shake yet.

Obviously this isn’t just an introvert problem. Everyone can go through transition phases where they don’t know which way is up or right or behind or what have you. Just this total feeling of directionlessness.

But speaking as an introvert, I can say that this whole situation has really reminded me how much we need other people for support and guidance and love. It’s so easy to take this for granted when we see the same people on a regular basis. Then, when things change and those same people are a little more distant, whether they intend to be or not, you realize what they really meant to you.

So, this is just a short post to remind y’all out there that no matter how high you may rate yourself in terms of introversion, you do need others in your life–and it’s a good idea to keep those ties with others strong during the good times, so you can know they’ll get your back during the not-so-good times.
